I’m a User Experience and User Interaction designer. I was born and raised in the Metrowest area of Boston and earning my degree in Human-Centered Computing in Rochester, NY at the Rochester Institute of Technology. My passion is designing and testing web and mobile software and making my products with user accessibility and ease in mind.
I grew up splitting my time and passion between theater arts and STEM. Both have a large influence on my life leading me down a creative job path where I can express ideas and then using my STEM side to implement them and make those ideas happen.
Currently, I am exploring the job market as I have completed my bachelor's degree in Human-Centered Computing at RIT. I have completed a 6-month long internship at Enel X and two summers with MITRE doing Business Innovation. At EnelX, I got to grow my skills as a designer through creating a brand new tool for the Sales Engineers to use. I perform user tests and accessibility tests on the sites. I contribute and maintain to a centralized design network (CDN) that has all of Enel X's design elements like banners, snack bars, typography, and iconography.
During my internship at MITRE, I had the opportunity to lead and design multiple internal-business tools with a cross-functional team. With a lot of transparency and communication I balanced multiple projects at once. My biggest accomplishment was Project Leading and doing UI/UX for our internship Grand Challenge-- the innovative museum exhibit. We had to create a digital museum that enhanced the day-to-day experience of the average employee with quick and meaningful interactions. Through this experience, I gained hands-on experience in conducting user research, creating wireframes, and collaborating with developers to uplift and celebrate the achievements of everyone working at the company. I built on my experience of learning how exceptional the people and the projects at the company were, and worked with a team to share that passion with anyone walking through the hallway.
My ~year of industry experience at my internships have grown my skills and work ethic greatly. I have also taken contract work and done plenty of self motivated projects on the side that teach me more than I could ever learn in my classes.
UX-ers have the opportunity to work in almost any field out there. If the business or a product goes on a screen or interacts with a human, a UX person is essential to the development and upkeep of the product. My professional experience is mostly based in B2B and internal tools but I am eager to jump into any field and give it my all.
Below is a niche list of fields and topics I have experience in that I really loved creating experiences in. They aren't my first love, but they are near and dear to my heart and I would love to work with, and use the skill sets I gained from, these projects in other work opportunities.
